Lancaster as a Sharing City Workshop was a success!

Event Date: 30th of March 2015

Location: Friends Meeting House, Lancaster

Over 30 participants from Lancaster and Birmingham attended our workshop, looking at sharing in the city. We had our diverse group engage in a series of activities, including writing down examples of sharing in their respective city, thinking about the worst-case scenario that could happen to sharing in Lancaster or Birmingham, making connections between sharing examples and designing a city of the future in which things could be amplified (made larger in terms of scale), created (new forms of sharing) or destroyed (like cars in town centres!). Overall, the Sharing City team got a lot out of the day and are hoping to replicate the success of this event with another one in Birmingham in late April/early May.

A huge thank you to all of the Liveable Cities team who attended on the day and took notes and facilitated at tables. Thank you as well to Amy for staffing the sign-in table and for helping set up, take stuff down and for ensuring that all coffee cups were put back in the kitchen cupboard! And a big thanks to Claire for her amazing organising efforts- without ther, we would not have had such a great event!
