A three year, fully-funded, PhD studentship on a cross disciplinary project - “Moving health and sustainability upstream into strategic urban development decision-making”

The Centre for Sustainable Planning and Environments at the University of the West of England is offering a three year fully-funded PhD studentship on a cross disciplinary project - “Moving health and sustainability upstream into strategic urban development decision-making”.  The project is funded by the Wellcome Trust’s Sustaining Health programme and will seek to: a) quantify in monetary terms the difference in health costs associated with standard and exemplary urban development and then b) work with influential delivery agencies to explore the barriers and opportunities for creating healthy urban environments.

The project is looking for exceptional PhD candidates who can bridge health/sustainability with economics and strategic urban development planning.

Deadline for applications: 29 June 2015
