Serena Pollastri

PhD Student
Lancaster University

Serena is a designer and PhD student based at ImaginationLancaster, the design-led research lab at Lancaster University.

In her research, she is exploring and developing collaborative methods for visualizing pluralistic future scenarios of urban life. Visual Conversations on Urban Futures are processes and artefacts that utilise visual language to enable and/or document voices imagining and debating possible futures for life in the city. (see some examples here: https://subjectivefutures.wordpress.com/).

Before joining Liveable Cities, she has worked as service designer in China and Italy, on small-scale design interventions to bridge the urban-rural divide. Serena also collaborated as guest lecturer and assistant at Tongji University (Shanghai) and Politecnico di Milano, and with DESIS Network (Design for Social Innovation and Sustainability). A sample of her work and a list of recent publications are available on her personal Website: http://seremiru.com
