Event Date: 7th of July 2014

Location: Houses of Parliament, Westminster

The University of Birmingham is currently running a Policy Commission on Future Urban Living, chaired by the Lord Shipley OBE, Government Advisor on Cities.

The Birmingham Policy Commission will launch its final report on Monday 7th July 2014 and is delighted to be hosting a panel discussion starting at 4:30pm in the Houses of Parliament, Westminster, at which the report’s findings will be presented.

Over the life of the Commission, its members have taken evidence from leading thinkers across academia, policy, and practice in order to investigate the most appropriate means for accommodating changing populations, demographics and societal needs in cities.  The Commission report brings this evidence together, presenting a model that informs those governing and developing policies for the UK’s cities on how to move towards a more sustainable and resilient future.  It explores the interdependency of the factors influencing the future of cities and how they can be aligned to produce positive outcomes for both cities and their citizens.  We anticipate this being a major contribution to the debate on policy.

We very much hope that you will be able to join us for this event and would ask you to RSVP to Jane Arrowsmith, Events Officer, at e.j.arrowsmith@bham.ac.uk  or on 0121 414 7254.
