The theme of the day was Future Cities: The major challenges and opportunities for implementing policy and practice.  This event brought together three nationally-leading groups to explore future cities, their opportunities, challenges and visions, and what this means for UK cities.  There was a particular focus upon the major challenges and opportunities for policy and practice.  Delegates heard the latest thinking on policy perspectives from Foresight Future of Cities; implementing research and transforming practice from the Future Cities Catapult; and designing, appraising and evaluating liveability in cities from the Liveable Cities research programme.

The purpose of this event was to pave the way for a summit of UK cities, planned for 2015. Further information about the UK Cities Summit will be made available via this website.
